Paper birch is a favorite as an ornamental for its peeling white bark and delicate foliage that turns brilliant yellow in autumn. This birch is tolerant of a variety of soil conditions and very hardy and seeds are a favorite among chickadees! This tree has rapid growth with pyramidal habit that changes to irregular oval or rounded as it ages. Paper birch is a more sensitive tree and is not tolerant of pollution or drought.
