The native red maple is one of the most common trees found in the northeast and central United States. Red maples have striking foliage in the fall, with leaves turning a range of vibrant red orange to deep red in color. This tree can easily adapt to different habitats and is an excellent wildlife food source. Red maple needs room for its dense, spreading root system.
